Benefits of Garlic

Garlic: Garlic comes in vegetable group and is a part of almost of every kitchen. Garlic has numerous health benefits due to the presence of unique sulfur containing compounds, which have e strong antioxidant, antibacterial, and antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties.

These properties make garlic suitable food stuff for controlling blood pressure and heart diseases. Garlic contain high amount of vitamin C also, garlic has been used in  thousands of cooking recipes and  can be used as  garnishing agent due to  its health giving nutrients. Garlic strengthens the nails if applied locally. Garlic burnt with oil is excellent traditional and local remedy for bone and joint pain because of its anti-inflammatory effects. Garlic is available in form of paste, powder and tablets but fresh garlic should be consumed to gain highest vitamin and antioxidant content.

Garlic also contains some B complex vitamins like vitamin B1 and vitamin B6, which play important role in metabolism. considerable amount of calcium, copper, phosphorous and selenium are also present , these are the trace element  important at cellular level and maintain overall body’s health and regulate cell turnover and prevents age related damage to vital organs. recent studies show that people with family history of heart diseases and high blood pressure, if take garlic in diet on daily basis along with exercise and low calorie diet, greatly reduce the chances of having these diseases in future.
